The Democratically lead senate has found plenty of time to grandstand on many issues since taking control. Apparently accomplishing the work of the people is not one of them. They have failed to pass Appropriations bills to fund the work of the government. Now they are claiming there is not enough time to work on a bill that was supposed to be brought up this year to help improve education by fixing some of the changes needed in No Child Left Behind. In an article on newsday.com this was said,
"It is is growing less likely that we will get a bill off the House floor in 2007," said Tom Kiley, a spokesman for Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., the chairman of the House education committee. "We continue to work hard on the bill."
What is becoming clear is that the Democratic Leadership of the Senate and Harry Reid in particular are less interested in governing than they are in grandstanding on issues. They have failed to complete the peoples work and should be held accountable.

Victory against Propoganda; Judge rules Gore climate film requires guidance notes
A judge today in Englad said that schools that show Al Gore's movie have to require with guidence notes so that kids will not be politically indoctrinated. The father who brought the lawsuit said the film was filled with "serious scientific inaccuracies, political propaganda and sentimental mush".
This film was inteded to present the opinion of Al Gore and what he thinks should be done to prevent it. It is not a subsitute for real academic learning. This is proof to me that our school system is broken. Why are teachers showing these kinds of movies and not teaching them real science. Here in America schools are showing this biased film as if it were complete fact. I hope that a judge here in America will show the same common sense that this English Judge did. Lets educate our children not brainwash them.

Education Reform by Edwards? Pre-K, Shouldn't we get K-12 right first
John Edwards made his "education reform" proposal. I find it hardly to be any kind of reform. He wants to create a universal Pre-K program funded and run by the federal goverment. Not only is this a blatant unconsitutional federal grab, but it also does nothing to fix an already broken K-12 system. This with the Edwards proposal you get no reform just more tax and spend and increase in the size of the government for the sake of government growth.
He also proposes to increase teacher pay in lower income areas. This will probably provide some benefit. But it is a band aid for a gushing wound. k-12 is broken not just in lower income areas but all areas. I expected more from a "reform" proposal and I think it just proves Edwards is not ready to lead.
