Victory for our military families, Church that pickets soldiers funerals with signs that say "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" found liable

Today a Federal Jury found the Westboro Baptist church liable for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress for picketing a soldiers funeral while carrying signs that said "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" and "God hates Fags." The awarded the family of the soldier who brought suit 2.9 Million in compensatory damages and are beginning deliberations on punitive damages. Earlier in the day the church and its founders had been protesting outside the courthouse. From breitbart.com,
"Earlier, church members staged a demonstration outside the federal courthouse, which is located on a busy thoroughfare a few blocks west of Baltimore's Inner Harbor, while passing motorists honked and shouted insults.
Church founder Fred Phelps held a sign reading "God is your enemy," while his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper stood on an American flag while carrying a sign that read "God hates fag enablers." Members of the group sang "God Hates America,"' to the tune of "God Bless America."

I am glad to see this scary religious group being punished for these outrageous actions. This group is an insult to religious groups and Americans and it appears they are getting their just punishment.

When Hillary is called out for talking out of both sides of her mouth who does she blame? Tim Russert for being "belligerent"

As everyone most likely has already heard last night was a bad night to be Hillary. In Democratic Debate 400 her opponents finally tried to make her give answers that actually mean something, what happened? She self-destructed by speaking out of both sides of her mouth.

She was asked what she though of Gov. Eliot Spitzer's plan to give illegals drivers licenses. She rambled for a while a ultimately defended his plan. When Chris Dodd was called on next and said that he disagreed with Hillary that Illegals should get drives license she shot back "I did not say that." In response Russert asked a follow up, "You told New Hampshire paper that it made a lot of sense. Do you support his plan?” Hillary who could not give a straight answer responded, "You know, Tim, this is where everybody plays gotcha."

Then came the barrage,

Edwards

“Unless I missed something, Sen. Clinton said two different things in the course of about two minutes. America is looking for a president who will say the same thing, who will be consistent, who will be straight with them.”

Obama

“I was confused by Sen. Clinton's answer. I can't tell whether she was for it or against it. One of the things that we have to do in this country is to be honest about the challenges that we face.”

So could Hillary bring herself to accept that she needed to be straight with the American people. No, she sent out an operative to claim that Moderator Tim Russert was unfair. "He bordered on the unprofessional, and He broke debate rules and was BELLIGERENT."

Hardly Hillary, the only person who is Belligerent is you, with your disregard with treating the American People with any kind of Respect. You are not the emperor or Queen you are running for President. Time for you to be honest with the American People even if you don't know how since you never have been before.

Kucinich questions Bush's Mental Health and then talks about seeing UFO; Someone is Crazy not sure it is Bush

Dennis Kucinich made new yesterday by questioning President Bush's mental health. He then followed that up by bringing more attention to the issue of Mental Health in the deabte last night. In response to a Tim Russert question about whether a claim made in a book that he had seen a UFO and that he had a warm feeling and felt attached to it, Kucinich admitted the encounter. Dennis Kucinich has shown throught the past several election cycles that he is unfit to be President. I am starting to question those who keep sending him back to serve them in Congress. He does not respect the role of Government laid out in the Constitution and now there should be a real debate on his mental health.

Acorn employees sentenced for Voter Fraud, but no media coverage because It is just another incident of liberal corruption covered up by the media

Three Acorn employees were sentenced after pleading quility of voter fraud. One was sentenced to 30 days in jail while the others are getting 120 days each. Three more have pleaded not quilty and will be in court in November.

This is just another incident of the the media covering up democratic corruption while focusing on the personal lives of Republican members. This is unacceptable people need to be made away of how ACORN has time and time again come in conflict with the law and that many democratic members and orgaizations have been corrupted. The media owes it to America to report this more than the personal lives elected officials and celebrities. It is funny how this is form the same far-left groups that swore their was voter fraud in the 2006 election until the democrats won. Then nothing wrong went wrong.

Kucinich Questions Bush's Mental Health, Intresting because I have always questioned his

Dennis Kucinich, the democratic presidential cantidate today questioned President Bush's mental health. This comes in the aftermath of the President saying that Iran getting nuclear capability could lead to World War III. "I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," Kucinich said, "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact." Apparently Mr. Kucinich shoud listen to his own advice. It seems to me you should also think before questioning the mental health of a sitting President of the United States.
I find that I have always questioned the mental health of this bizarre Presidential Canidate. First, this is second attempt for the democratic nomination even though he had very little support even last time he ran. His ideas for our country are so far to the left not only are many not constiutional they would make America look for socialist than democratic. He seems to never have met a government run program they he does not like. He takes that even further by coming up with ideas that would make most operations of the United States run under government control.
He went on to say, "You cannot be a president of the United States who's wanton in his expression of violence." I dont think you can be President if you do not respect the freedoms people have from their government.

Murtha is going to be challanged in 2008 by career army soldier

Representative John Murtha, the anti-war poster child of the democrats will be challenged in 2008. He is being challenged by William Russell a career army soldier. Murtha's constant anti-war message has caused a backlash among conservatives in his district that has man defense related jobs. While Murtha has cited his experience with wounded veterans as why he is in favor of a full withdrawal from Iraq, Russell has the opposite outlook. Russell feels that cutting and running would make the sacrifice of the soldiers in Iraq pointless. On the campaign trail Russell refers to Murtha's views on the war as just flat wrong. He also condemns Murtha's reliance on earmarks and pork barrel budgeting.

While William Russell may not have a real chance at unseating the Democratic chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, at least someone is willing to challenge this corrupt Member of Congress who was once an unindicted co-conspirator in a corruption case.

Edwards Plans for America, not all they're cracked up to be

John Edwards has been releasing a barage of ideas on policies that he would like to implement if he became President. John Edwards wants the government to pay for Universal Pre-Kindergarten, have the government provide matching savings accounts, mandate a minimum wage of $9.50 an hour, and a government run program called "College for Everyone" to provide college educations for everyone. He believes this should all be government funded and be paid for by higher taxes. Edwards goes on to say that, "There are no free meals," but that is exactly what he wants to provide.

Universal Pre-K

Universal Pre-K is one of those things that sounds good on the stump, but in reality is just not a great idea. First, we are not even getting K-12 correct yet. Why expand the education system when we can not even face the failing of the current systems we have in place. This is a move to create a new free lunch program to pay for babysitting for children instead of education. We as a country do not have a duty to provide for every child from birth to graduation from college. This is a family responsibility.

Government Matching Savings Accounts

Edwards proposes another free lunch program here also. American does not have any Constitutional power to do such a thing. We as a society should do everything we can to encourage saving. It is not the job of our government to provide matching funds for those that do so. This is a gross injustice to the federal governments taxing power. Money should not be taken from some just to be given to other people for the sake of doing it.

Minimum Wage Increase

John Edwards loves the idea of increasing the minimum wage. The problem with this proposal is that it really does not help people. Artifical floors and ceilings on prices do not work in the long run. The fact is that such an increase in the minimum wage will do more to destroy the middle class than anything else. Most in the middle class are salaried employess who make very modest salaries. When the minimum wage is increased prices also increase by the same amount because costs are passed through to the consumers. These middle class salaried employees do not see an increase in their salaries and if they do not by the amount of the increase in prices. So the middle class salaried employees are pulled closer to the poverty line while the workers who see the increase in wages have no more purchasing power.

College for Everyone

John Edwards proposal for College for Everyone is good for publicity but nothing more than pandering. Here in the United States we already have a system that allows people aid to go to college. Our Financial Aid system provides government subsidized loans to those who need assistance to pay for college. Second, the idea that everyone should go to College is a fallacy in operation. By having everyone go to college you just devalue the advantage of a college degree. You create a domino effect where a high school diplomia is even more devalued and a college degree is the basic starting point. So now those who want to get ahead need to get a masters degree. Those that would have gotten a Masters degree before get a PHD instead. This just removes any advantage to these degrees. Instead we should instead focus on improving our High School system. Those who would like to pursue a vocation that does not require a college degree should be encouraged and provided vocational training that they need. Those that plan on going to college should recieve the college preperation they need. This is a realistic approach not a one size fits all of a College for Everyone program.

John Edwards likes rhetoric and pandering. How else could he advocate that there are no free lunches while pushing proposals creating them. John Edwards has taken an platform of running for President by raising taxes and creating massive new government programs. This traditionally has not worked. Walter Mondale has been here and done that and We must assume and hope the results will be the same. It always sounds good when government gives things away, but someone has to pay and the effect of that will destroy and economy and create a larger government that our Constitution never intended. Always Remember a Government powerful enough to give you everything is also powerful enough to take your freedoms away.
