Al Queda calls for use of WMD on civilians, but dont worry some think they are just misunderstood

Everytime I read a new article about how bad we treat terrorists and they should be given the same rights as Americans I get a little worked up. When people refuse to play by the rules they should not be rewarded by being treated better than other Military Prisoners. I think the people who push these kinds of view have lost track about what this is really about. The terrorists do not care about rules they do not care how many innocent people they kill just to accomplish their senseless views. They hit us once and we have to do everything possible to hunt these people down and hold them responsible for their actions.

From ABC News,

Intelligence and law enforcement sources tell ABC News they are expecting al Qaeda supporters will post a new video on the Internet in the next 24 hours, calling for what one source said is "jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West."
"There have been several reports that al Qaeda will release a new message calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told ABC News in an e-mail.
"Although there have been similar messages in the past, the FBI and [Department of Homeland Security] have no intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.," the e-mail said. "The FBI and U.S. intelligence community will review the message for any intelligence value."
While there is no evidence of any direct threat, the FBI sent a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, out of an abundance of caution.
Some independent analysts don't think the public should worry much.
Ben Venzke, the CEO of IntelCenter, a group that monitors terrorist communications on the Web, said the video, entitled "Nuclear Jihad, The Ultimate Terror," is a jihadi supporter video compilation and not from an official group.
"Supporter videos are made by fans or supporters who may not have ever had any contact with a real terrorist," Venzke said. "These videos almost always are comprised of old video footage that is edited together to make a new video."
He said the material in these types of videos does not qualify as an official message from al Qaeda or any other group.
"Considering them so would be the equivalent of considering a 10-year-old's homemade fan video of his favorite sports team to be an official team message," Venzke said. "IntelCenter is not aware of any new imminent message by al-Qaeda or any other leading jihadist group in audio or video form that will call for the use of WMD against civilians."
Word of the new tape comes on the heels of a spate of messages from Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Earlier this month, al Qaeda released an audio message from bin Laden, excoriating the media and countries that are supportive of Israel. The release was timed to coincide with the nation's 60th anniversary and President Bush's trip to the region.
So far this year, four bin Laden tapes have surfaced.
In April, the terror group released audio recordings in which al-Zawahiri answered questions submitted to an online forum several months earlier.
The increasing volume of tapes seems to signal to the law enforcement and intelligence communities that top al Qaeda leadership is comfortable monitoring current events and communicating messages frequently.
Officials have tracked the trend, but FBI director Robert Mueller downplayed the surge of messages during an appearance earlier this month, noting that "there is a difference between al Qaeda's ability to communicate internally and al Qaeda's ability to post a message on the Internet. As we all know, the Internet is so broad. The access is absolutely open that just about anybody can post material on the Internet."

Berkley Council Guilty of Treason

The Contra Costa times reports,

Hey-hey, ho-ho, the Marines in Berkeley have got to go.
That's the
message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell
the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in
the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and
unwelcome intruders."
In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing
its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against
the Marines because of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy. And it
officially encouraged the women's peace group Code Pink to impede the work of
the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.
In a separate
item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in
front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound
permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.

"I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they
shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates
after votes were cast.

This is the ultimate case for treason. It is one thing to have an opinion and voice it about the war, it is quite another to remove Marine recruiters. This kind of action should not be tolarated in America. Those who voted for this resolution should be found quilty of treason and removed from office. Tell Mayor Tom Bates how disgraceful his actions and comments are, his email address is mayor@ci.berkeley.ca.us

Gen. David H. Petraeus possibly getting a Promotion; He has most certainly earned it

The New York Time is reporting,

The Pentagon is considering Gen. David H. Petraeus for the top NATO
command later this year, a move that would give the general, the top American
commander in Iraq, a high-level post during the next administration but that has raised concerns about the practice of rotating war commanders.

A senior Pentagon official said that it was weighing “a next assignment for
Petraeus” and that the NATO post was a possibility. “He deserves one and that
has also always been a highly prestigious position,” the official said. “So he
is a candidate for that job, but there have been no final decisions and nothing
on the timing.”
General Petraeus has earned a promotion. He has successfully implemented the surge and has made tremendous progress in Iraq. Then instead of being given the appreciation he deserved, the far left took an ad out labeling him a traitor. None the less, he showed up and served admirably. He would serve as an excellent Commander of NATO. I am proud that such great American Patriots exist and are willing to stand up to those who want to blame America for everything and label our Heroes as traitors.

No, Iran is not up to no good, just keep believing that

From the AP,

The top U.S. Navy commander in the area said an Iranian fleet of high-speed
boats charged at and threatened to blow up a three-ship U.S. Navy convoy passing
near but outside Iranian waters on Monday, as they headed into the Persian Gulf
through the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian fleet "maneuvered aggressively" and
then vanished as the American ship commanders were preparing to open fire, said
Vice Adm. Kevin Cosgriff. No shots were fired.

If you listen to some Iran has been the victim of the big bad United States. I think this incident puts it more in line. Iran is up to no good, but how dare anyone mention that.

House Democrats not intrested in preventing Terrorist attacks

From the Washington Post,

The White House vowed to veto the measure. Limiting the CIA to interrogation
techniques authorized by the Army Field Manual "would prevent the United States
from conducting lawful interrogations of senior al Qaeda terrorists toobtain intelligence needed to protect Americans from attack," the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement.

The House Democrats are so worried about treating the Al Queda members so well that they do not care how many American lives they cost. You cannot play by the rules when your opponent does not follow them. It is time we asked House Democrats to Protect Americans first and pander later.

Far Left Fringe Alert: Code Pink attacks the Democrats too, now

From the Washington Times,

The mostly female group — famous for disrupting congressional hearings and its
demonstrators clad in pink T-shirts and tiaras — has applied for a new tax
status that permits political work for its campaigns against Democrats as well
as Republicans, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin said.
"We felt betrayed
by the very people we helped to put into office," Ms. Benjamin told editors and
reporters at The Washington Times. "We have a particular break with the
leadership of the Democratic Party."

No, they have a break with the American People. The fact remains the anti-america left wing fringe groups want us to lose no matter what the cost is. The fact is troops can not be pulled tommarow without destablizing Iraq. They are not different than the anti-war groups in the late 60's that went as far as to carry Vietcong flags. They are a small group, the "silent majority" of Americans want America to remain strong and finish the job. This is why congress will not change the policy. Later in the story this quote sticks out

"We are disgusted with all of them," Ms. Benjamin said of the Democrat-led
Congress. "We were in Congress today saying, 'Close Gitmo,' and I changed my
sign to say, 'Close Congress.' "

It is amazing that Ms. Benjamin does not get the America Poltical system. Congress is doing its job preventing a small fraction from endagering the country. I hope Code Pink does try to take on the democrats and the Democratic Party shows them just how much of a fringe group they really are.

Democrats dont look now Baghdad is starting to thrive

The New York Times has the article.

"As a result, for the first time in nearly two years, people are moving with freedom around much of this city. In more than 50 interviews across Baghdad, it became clear that while there were still no-go zones, more Iraqis now drive between Sunni and Shiite areas for work, shopping or school, a few even after dark. In the most stable neighborhoods of Baghdad, some secular women are also dressing as they wish. Wedding bands are playing in public again, and at a handful of once shuttered liquor stores customers now line up outside in a collective rebuke to religious vigilantes from the Shiite Mahdi Army."

What will the Democrats do now. It has become clear that they will only accept failure at any cost, but as the sucess becomes more clear what line will they take. I find this as an indication of why Congress's poll numbers are so much lower than the President's now. While Congress continues to waste time delaying on the war and not handling the real buisness of the nation our Military has been winning. It is time the Democrats got off their soapboxes and did the real work of the people.

Congressional Democrats want to Lose Iraq War so much they just ignore the military reports

The Washington Times has a great article about the lengths to which the Congressional Democrats will go to lose in Iraq at any cost. They reject the reports now that keep rolling in that progress is being made. They just want to ignore them and pull out leaving Iraq worse off than it is today.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi,

"Certainly any time our military is engaged in military action, we want the best possible outcome for them, and they have produced that," she said. "But their sacrifice and their courage has not been met by any action on the part of the Iraqi government."

Interesting, they have met more benchmarks than her house has passed appropriation bills. Is she really the person to judge the effectiveness of government?

Independent Joe Lieberman observed what is really going on, the war critics "remain emotionally invested in a narrative of retreat and defeat, even as facts on the ground show that we are advancing and winning."

House Minority Leader John A. Boehner went even further, "Democrats can't acknowledge the fact that our troops are winning the war against al Qaeda in Iraq without admitting that they've been dead wrong on the biggest national challenge of our generation at the same time."

In the war in Iraq the death tolls of military and civilians has decline dramatically. Al Queda is on the verge on being eliminated. They are even being able to ease curfews and restrictions throughout Baghdad and the nation. Yet the answer for the democrats to that is not build on the success and finish the job, but all you hear from them is cut and run we cant win. I guess American lives and sacrifices mean nothing to them and their defeat at all cost approach.

Why the anti-war movement should be called what it is Treason!

Michelle Malkin has been posting some stories about a group of anti-war protestors in Washington State. These people have been trying to stop the movement of military supplies to and from the port there. They have even gone as far as to use children as human shields.

Go Read Michelle's Stories

This is no longer a protest. When you prevent the movement of items needed to conduct a war it is sedition and treason. These "protestors should not be allowed to continue and not face the consequences. Part of living in America is actually supporting America, or at the very least not try to prevent our brave troops from getting the supplies they need.

Murtha is going to be challanged in 2008 by career army soldier

Representative John Murtha, the anti-war poster child of the democrats will be challenged in 2008. He is being challenged by William Russell a career army soldier. Murtha's constant anti-war message has caused a backlash among conservatives in his district that has man defense related jobs. While Murtha has cited his experience with wounded veterans as why he is in favor of a full withdrawal from Iraq, Russell has the opposite outlook. Russell feels that cutting and running would make the sacrifice of the soldiers in Iraq pointless. On the campaign trail Russell refers to Murtha's views on the war as just flat wrong. He also condemns Murtha's reliance on earmarks and pork barrel budgeting.

While William Russell may not have a real chance at unseating the Democratic chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, at least someone is willing to challenge this corrupt Member of Congress who was once an unindicted co-conspirator in a corruption case.

Another Code Pink Fiasco: Protester waves blood-colored hands in Rice's face

Today Code Pink again disrupted a Congressional Hearing. This one is more alarming since the protestor got within feet of the Secretary of State. Code Pink has shown time and time again that instead of a rational discussion of ideas they have decided that spitting on the institutions of the United States in a better philopsophy. Time has come for Congress to take a stand and forbid the Code Pink Women from coming into the halls of Congress. They have showed that they can not be trusted to act in a rational manner. Our system of government was set up to allow for discussions of ideas, but in any represenative form of government you do not always get your way. When you are not getting your way it is not rational to time and time again come to serious meeting and disrupt them with high school level stunts. I respect all people who bring ideas to the table, but I do not respect people who can not operate in a rational society. I can only hope that those in the anti-war movement will condemn this group for their shameful tatics.

Democrats realize the Bush administration was right after all; this time on wiretapping

The Democrats have claimed that they would rollback the wiretapping policies of the Bush Administration. Now the Democrats are prepared to provide broad blanket authority for the NSA for several years. The Democratic leadership fears that they will not be able to maintain their majority in Congress if they appear weak on the war on terrorism by refusing to give the powers to the intelligence community.
